In the challenging times of the coronavirus pandemic, safety and hygiene measures are more important than ever. Inspired by our corporate philosophy of caring for life, Fresenius Kabi Germany decided to give its annual charitable donation of €20,000 to the GoBanyo initiative aiming to assist homeless people in Germany’s second biggest city Hamburg.

Located in the north of the country, the GoBanyo shower bus offers people in need the opportunity to shower free of charge and supply themselves with clean towels, clothes and other hygiene products. The range of services is constantly being expanded through collaborations, for example by visits from a mobile medical doctor. By joining forces, GoBanyo also offers support to bring homeless people off the streets and into a new home.

The contribution from Fresenius Kabi Germany will enable the GoBanyo initiative to further improve the quality of life of people in need. The donation is initially intended to keep the operations running, but it will also help to realize other ideas such as an urgently needed cargo bike for environmentally friendly freight transport.

“We are deeply touched by the dedication of the GoBanyo team who help homeless people in these difficult times,” said Andrej Mieth, Managing Director of Fresenius Kabi Germany. “With our donation we want to support their important initiative and contribute to improve people’s quality of life. We see this not only as a responsibility as a company, but it is our inner need to truly be caring for life.”
