This year, around 30,000 trainees participated in the national competition of the German Association for the Promotion of Nursing Care Quality (Verein zur Förderung pflegerischer Qualität). They all wanted to win the “Award for best trainees in geriatric and nursing care”. But in the end, only three of them took a prize home. Dr. Boris Bromm, Senior Vice President Healthcare Law & Politics, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Research Funding, was impressed by the participants' level of engagement. In his speech at this year’s award ceremony, he emphasized how important it is to support trainees. “Caregivers are the biggest occupational group in the German healthcare industry and they deserve our particular appreciation. That is why we are committed to supporting the efforts to foster young talent,” he said.

Fresenius Kabi Germany has been a major sponsor of the award since 2013, providing annual funding of €12,500.
