November 5, 2015

Guided by the mission of caring for life, Fresenius Kabi believes in creating value for its patients and the community. In keeping with this promise, Fresenius Kabi supports the communities around its Indian locations in Gurgaon, Baddi and Kalyani through initiating social activities.

The Government Girls’ Primary School in Gurgaon required infrastructural renovation as the school building developed huge cracks in walls and ceilings and was in danger of collapse. New toilet facilities were also built along with a clean drinking water facility.

The Primary School in Chanal Majra, Baddi has 240 pupils and was in very poor condition. There were no benches to sit on – students had to sit on the ground outside or the floor of their classrooms. Fresenius Kabi donated wooden benches so students could sit properly and more comfortably.

The Primary School in Kishanpura near Baddi had no proper toilet facilities that were separated for girls and boys. For this reason new, separate toilets were installed for all 143 students. The work also included installing new water facilities with clean and safe drinking water.

The blind girls’ school, Paschim Banga Andha Vidyalaya as well as the government primary school, Shikshayatan in Kalyani also received new toilet facilities. In addition, the blind school was equipped with special safety features to make sure the blind students have a secure environment.

The government school at Vijay Laksmi Netaji Hindi Vidyalaya was provided with extensive structural renovations. The refurbishments included plastering and painting both inside and outside, electrical fittings, a shed for the corridor as well as new doors and windows.

Besides taking care of the renovations for the mentioned schools, Fresenius Kabi provided eight scholarships for the best two students per class in Kalyani. This will give ambitious students the chance to receive a good education.

After completion, the teachers expressed that the initiatives are a cornerstone in enhancing the standards of education and health in schools and will have a positive impact on the lives of the local children.
