The company invests €3.8 million to build a warehouse, which will be directly connected to the production building. At the Blonie site, Fresenius Kabi produces medical disposables, such as infusion disposables, enteral nutrition sets and port systems. The finished products − after being sterilized and packaged − can now be stored and delivered directly from the plant.

With a size of 3,500 square meters, the warehouse will have space for around 7,200 pallets. A highly efficient forklift system will allow to optimally manage the warehouse. The new building will also include a commissioning hall and four loading docks. Construction is expected to be completed at the end of this year. Jens Schaake, General Manager at the Blonie plant, says: “With the new warehouse we can react very flexibly to market needs and directly supply our global markets from Poland.”

The Blonie plant belongs to the Fresenius Kabi production network for application disposables and produces semi-finished products as well as a broad range of finished products. These devices are used in the treatment of critically and chronically ill patients, for example with diabetes, cancer or kidney diseases.

The plant currently serves products to more than 40 countries worldwide − not only to Europe but also to China, South America and Australia. Fresenius Kabi employs approximately 1,500 people in Blonie, making it one of the most important employers in the Lower Silesia region.
