Further expansion in Dominican Republic – Production site in Haina enlarged by additional warehouse

Jose Tomas Contreras, Executive Vice-President of PIISA (Itabo Industrial Park), and Fresenius Kabi’s Bernardo Alvarez, General Manager Haina, signed the lease contract directly on site. The decades-long presence of the company in Haina is a great success story and will continue to improve the quality of life of patients around the globe.
Fresenius Kabi’s production site in Haina, Dominican Republic, will be expanded by an additional warehouse to increase the capacity for state-of-the-art products manufactured on site. The building will be constructed by private industrial free zone PIISA Industrial Park and rented to the company through a leasing agreement for at least 15 years.
The construction work is projected to be finished in 2022. The additional logistics capacities will allow the company to supply ever more patients with lifesaving products and treatments.
On site just outside the Dominican Republic’s capital, Santo Domingo, the company’s more than 3,500 employees manufacture high-quality apheresis sets and devices for collecting blood components such as platelets or plasma. The continuous investment into the site and the region stands as a clear commitment to further develop the decades-long presence in the Caribbean country.
The products manufactured in Haina are exported to global markets to improve the quality of life of patients worldwide.
